About Us

Cambria was established by Gary Mitchell and Wynn James; both highly experienced Chartered Engineers with over 40 years of consultancy expertise between them.

Gary Mitchell

Gary has experience in designing and managing the widest range of projects for private and public sector clients throughout the UK. He has a reputation for finding commercial value using innovative engineering solutions, prioritising client care and maximising project benefit.  Gary has also managed some particularly difficult engineering projects, which go beyond core Civil and Structural engineering services including delivery of contentious Flood Defence Consents, Environmental Permits (Discharge) and Flood Evacuation Plans.

Bringing much more to design teams than just engineering, Gary is a proactive and helpful team member who always goes the extra mile to ensure a project is as successful as it can possibly be.

Wynn James

Wynn’s international experience covers a wide range of consultancy multi-disciplinary design commissions for private and public sector clients throughout the UK and overseas.  These include large retail stores for Tesco, Argos, B&Q, Halfords; prestige office blocks at Express Park, Woodwater Park, Blackbrook Farm, Tamar Science Park; Private/Housing Association residential developments and Defence projects involving CHE Buildings, Stores, P&RTC facilities, accommodation and mess blocks.

A key team player with a proactive “can do” approach Wynn pre-empts and provides solutions to potential problems before they have the opportunity to adversely affect a project.

OUR TEAM

When starting Cambria we knew we only wanted the highest calibre engineers working for and with us. Our employee choices are founded on past working relationships and maximising team strength.  We know our Project Managers and delivery teams exceptionally well; they have considerable experience and expertise in designing in all structural materials and deliver commercially efficient solutions.

Our staff and reputation is the foundation for everything we do.  It is therefore fundamental that we ensure we employ the best at every level.
