Structural Steelwork

The majority of our projects incorporate a steel framework as the primary structural support since this is usually the most cost and time efficient solution to construct on site. We are always determined to deliver to our clients the most cost effective combination of beam and column weights and with every project being different we will design a series of options to arrive at the most cost effective steelwork tonnage required for a particular building layout. Our expertise in this field has secured us countless design-build projects from contractors and steelwork fabricators where cost is king with our design and detailing work being undertaken not only to British Standards and UK and European versions of the Eurocodes but also to American Institute Design Codes. With all these projects  comes a broad expertise in the design of all types of structural steelwork including:

  • Long Span Multi Bay Portal Frames.
  • High Bay Braced Frames with/without Gantry Cranes.
  • Traditional and Vierendeel Long Span Trusses Over 60m.
  • Permanent Steel Decking Composite Slabs.
  • Sway Frames.
  • Westok Beams.
  • Pre-cambered Steelwork.
  • Composite Action Steel Frames.
  • Retro Fitted Mezzanine Floors.
  • Fire Boundary Conditions.
  • Fire and Corrosion Protection Measures.
  • Plastic and Elastic Design of Connections.
